Top artists from Korea and Japan came together to deliver a moving performance at “THE TROT SHOW IN JAPAN.”
Held on April 10 at the Grand Cube Osaka in Japan, “THE TROT SHOW IN JAPAN” successfully concluded in celebration of the 60th anniversary of Korea-Japan diplomatic relations. The event featured top-tier artists representing Korean trot and Japanese J-POP, presenting a diverse range of performances that moved the audience.
Representing Korea, 12 outstanding artists—including Geum Jan Di, Kim Hee Jae, Park Gu Yoon, Park Ji Hyun, Son Tae Jin, Song Ga In, Ahn Sung Hoon, Jin Sung, Hong Ji Yoon, and Hwang Yoon Sung—delivered explosive vocals and captivating performances, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the audience. From Japan, national singer Shigeru Matsuzaki and rising star Utakokoro Rie, known for her performances in the "Korea-Japan King of Singers" competition, showcased iconic J-POP hits, further heating up the atmosphere.
Particularly memorable were the special collaboration stages between Korean and Japanese artists. Son Tae Jin and Utakokoro Rie delivered an emotional rendition of the legendary Misora Hibari’s "Like the Flowing River," while Song Ga In and Ahn Sung Hoon sang the Korean trot classic "Hometown Dream" by Han Jung Mu, evoking deep emotions. Additionally, Song Min Joon and Hwang Yoon Sung performed "Spring Days of My Life," a remake of a hit originally by Japan’s popular group Tube, raising the excitement even further.
This concert marked the first global event organized by Studio M&C, the operator of the global fandom platform STAR PLANET, and concluded to great acclaim both domestically and internationally.
Studio M&C drew significant attention in Japan by showcasing a premium stage that seamlessly blended Korean trot and Japanese J-POP, laying the groundwork for further expansion into global markets. A representative from Studio M&C stated, "We plan to strengthen our connection with fans across various fields such as concerts, performances, and games, including through STAR PLANET."
Meanwhile, the emotional performances of “THE TROT SHOW IN JAPAN,” jointly organized by STAR PLANET and Maroo Entertainment and hosted by SBS Medianet, are scheduled to be broadcast at a later date.
